The game of Craps use two six sided dice. Two six sided dice will produce 36 different results. 6 X 6 = 36. The thirty six results will produce number that total between 2 and 12. Study the charts below to see how these results are distributed between the eleven numbers.

  Random

All numbers in craps are not created equal. The 7 is the predominant number with six ways to achieve the number, followed by the 6 and 8 with five ways, the 5 and 9 with four ways, the 4 and 10 with three ways, the 3 and 11 with two ways. and the 2 and 12 with just one way to make the number.. Every number has a number that is equal in probability, and in fact is shown on the bottom of the dice when the sister number is on top.

The top and bottom of the dice always add up to 7.

Probabilities can be shown as a fraction, decimal, or percentage for all 36 possible rolls.

When shown as a percentage of all rolls, it becomes easy to see how little the real chances are for a number to repeat before the seven is rolled. This is why long hands at a craps table are rare.
